Indigenous Governance Award

In 2005 the Koorie Heritage Trust was announced as the recipients of Reconciliation Australia’s Inaugural National Indigenous Governance Award sponsored by BHP Billiton.
The Indigenous Governance Awards were created by Reconciliation Australia in partnership with BHP Billiton (now BlueScope Steel) to identify, celebrate and promote effective Indigenous governance. The national awards highlight success in Indigenous Australia - strong leadership, good management, effective partnerships and brave, creative thinking.

Victorian Tourism Awards
In 2007 the Trust received Hall of Fame status in the Victorian Tourism Awards in the category of Indigenous tourism. The Trust received the Award having won the category for three years running.
The Victorian Tourism Awards represent an industry framework for peer recognition which fosters a culture for business development excellence and innovation.
